Just a quick post to let you know about an awesome set of brushes I found on deviantArt.com that you just got to go get!
I just started using them and I love them for a lot of different purposes.

Another set that looks cool. I haven’t used them yet but they sure look neat.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

I only have Illustrator 10 and CS1. Bummer. I could use those hair-strand brushes. No way to copy them?
Desperate,
Danny (Jake to you, Brian, on MySpace)
You can use most Illustrator brushes in any version of Illustrator you have.
I have Illustrator 8 brushes that work just as well in CS3 as they do in their original program and the same can be said for the CS3 brushes.
Load them in and give them a shot. These don’t disappoint.
I like to use them with a .25 stroke and every now and then a .5 stroke. I then make white highlight strokes on a seperate layer above them for added highlights.
Hope this helps,
Brian
I downloaded them on my Mac G5 and neither version 10 or CS1 could open the file (it wasn’t a brush library). Both versions gave a window that they were made with a newer version and importing can result in some losses. When I clicked okay to import, all I got was a page that said the file was not something in PDF compatible, or whatever. The brushes didn’t import. Hmmm…
I’ll try to copy with a pen tool over the deviantArt jpeg of the brushes and see what pops.
Thanks for your help. You still rule, dude! Heh!
